Research context
5-Amino-1MQ is a cell-permeable NNMT inhibitor. NNMT consumes S-adenosylmethionine to methylate nicotinamide, and the enzyme sits at the junction of methyl-donor availability and NAD+ salvage. Preclinical papers report changes in adipocyte NAD+ pools and SAM/SAH ratios in murine tissue and cultured cells. Supplied as the iodide salt.
