Literature

Research context

GW-501516 is a thiazole-containing carboxylic acid with high selectivity for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta over the α and γ subtypes. Preclinical papers describe transcriptional programmes for fatty-acid oxidation in murine skeletal muscle and its use alongside AMPK agonists in the exercise-mimetic literature. Development was discontinued after long-term rodent carcinogenicity findings. Not approved for human use in any jurisdiction.
