Literature

Research context

Epithalon was derived by Khavinson's group from the pineal preparation epithalamin. Published work reports telomerase reverse transcriptase expression in human somatic cell culture, effects on melatonin rhythm in aged rodents and primates, and chromatin-decondensation observations in lymphocyte preparations. Almost all of the literature originates from a single research programme.

Documented research areas

  • Telomerase (hTERT) expression in cell culture
  • Pineal peptide and circadian rhythm research
  • Chromatin decondensation in lymphocytes
  • Cellular senescence in rodent and primate models
