GHRP-2 was among the earliest synthetic secretagogues characterised at what would later be identified as GHS-R1a. It is registered in Japan as a diagnostic agent for pituitary function testing, which makes it one of the better-characterised members of the GHRP series in terms of receptor occupancy and concentration-response data in animal models.
